Benowski was born 1979 in Pcim, a village near Cracow/Poland.

He was impressed by art already early in his youth. He admired Salvador Dalí and his surreal approach to how we look at „our" world.
First painting and drawing in charcoal, he was never completely satisfied with the results and abandoned art for some years.
In his late twenties he decided to adopt photography as the favorite means of expression.
After two years being strictly dedicated to street photography he focuses now on people, still trying to add to each scenery a more or less surreal touch.
